President Joe Biden's main mission in Surfside, Miami, was this Thursday to
provide comfort
to the families of the victims and those missing in the Champlain Towers tragedy a week ago.
Among the 145 disappeared (counted until last night)
are 9 Argentines
: the plastic surgeon Andrés Galfrascoli, 44, and his partner Fabián Nuñez, 55, and Sofía, 5 years old.
Also the family of the photographer Graciela Cattarossi, 48, who was with her daughter Estela, 7, her sister Andrea and her parents (one of them is Uruguayan).
Also
listed are attorney Nicole “Nicky” Langesfeld,
27, and physics student Ilan Naibryf, 21.
The meeting with the relatives took place at the St Regis hotel in Bal Harbor, a few blocks from the site of the collapse, and
lasted about three hours.
Biden first gave a speech in the middle of a room and then began to speak separately with each of the families.
The relatives of “Nicky” Langesfeld
spoke for a while with the president about the fate of their daughter
, who disappeared along with her Venezuelan husband, Luis Sadovnic, after their eighth-floor apartment collapsed.

Biden comforted Pablo, “Nicky's” father, and Andrea, the mother
, who couldn't help crying.
Brother also participated in the meeting.
Nicky is born in the United States, but she
is on the Foreign Ministry's list of disappeared because she has documentation from our country
, which she obtained because her parents are Argentine.
A few hours after the tragedy, her relatives had circulated a photo of her and her husband on social networks and in chats of the Surfside Jewish community.
“
We are looking for Nicky Lagensfeld and Luis Sadovnic
(8th floor).
If someone has seen them or has any information, please contact this number ", they warned.
Lawyer, “Nicky”
studied at the University of Florida and the Miami School of Law
, with outstanding grades.
He works for the Reed Smith firm and specializes in commercial litigation.

A few days ago, Nicky's uncle, Andy,
had shown his frustration at the slowness of the rescue
on social networks: “Three days ago I approached where they leave me to the mountain of rubble expecting to see hundreds of people lined up passing stones and machinery moving heavy debris, but what I have seen in those three critical days since the early hours of Thursday the 24th has left me discouraged and powerless, ”he said.
The photo of Nicky and her husband, as well as that of the rest of the disappeared Argentines,
can be seen on the makeshift fence
as a tribute to the victims, where neighbors come to offer flowers and express their pain.
After visiting families, Biden also went there with his wife to express his condolences.
