In June, Danyal Balaz and his partner Katharina Schulze, leader of the Greens in the Bavarian state parliament, had a son.
Actually, the two politicians wanted to keep their family life private.
But since the birth of the child, the new Baden-Württemberg Finance Minister Danyal Bayaz (read a portrait here) has been violently attacked by racists and agitators.
For example, misogynistic, inhuman and racist comments about the Green politician and his family can be read on Twitter. Bayaz himself reacted ironically to the attacks. He posted a selection of insults and attacks and commented on them with the sentence "Thanks for the congratulations" and a red heart. The "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and the "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" first reported on the attacks.
In addition, Bayaz does not want to comment. "It is not the first time that Mr. Bayaz is confronted with hatred on the Internet," said his spokesman. "However, it has frightened him that even the birth of his child is an occasion for racist, misogynistic and inhuman comments." In his opinion, effective rules are urgently needed against such hateful comments. Platforms are not a legal vacuum.
Baden-Württemberg's Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) described the attacks as disgusting and disgusting.
"Everyone who writes something like this to Danyal Bayaz or Katharina Schulze is a shame and should be ashamed," he told the German Press Agency.
One should not allow attacks to take place anonymously from the digital undergrowth.
»Too often digital hate turns into real violence.
We need an obligation to identify, especially in social media, so that such perpetrators can be held accountable and receive their just punishment. "
The 37-year-old Heidelberg Bayaz has been state finance minister since mid-May, before he sat in the Bundestag.
