When the right is solid, the left, even united, cannot resist.
We have just had spectacular examples in the second round of regional.
All eyes were on Valérie Pécresse, less well placed at home than Xavier Bertrand or Laurent Wauquiez at home.
She had just passed 36% of the vote in the first round.
The three left-wing candidates capable of holding on to the second (the Green Julien Bayou, the socialist Audrey Pulvar, the rebellious Clémentine Autain) then decided to come together to beat her.
Together they have 42,000 voices less than her, but feel it's playable.
They are right: in the second round, they exceeded the score of Valérie Pécresse by some 2,000 votes.
But this is his result of the first round!
In the second, it adds nearly 290,000 votes, multiplying by more than 6 its previous lead, and it reached 45.5%, or 10 points better than the first.
