IPPEN.MEDIA wins the third local journalist award from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
Hanau - In February 2020, a terrorist attack occurred in Hanau in Hesse that cost ten people their lives.
After his assassination attempt, the 43-year-old perpetrator finally committed suicide.
The case attracted great attention and dismay nationwide.
As a local newspaper, the Hanauer Anzeiger, part of the IPPEN.MEDIA editorial network, reported in detail on the terrorist attack - and has now been awarded the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's German Local Journalist Prize.
The first edition of the HA after the attack, which appeared on February 21, 2020, was awarded 3rd prize by the jury.
Those responsible justified this decision as follows: “All editorial staff - online, print, layout and freelance photographers - developed a concept and produced an edition that the jury awarded the third prize.
From the first to the last page of issue one after the terrorist attack, the small team managed to paint an all-encompassing picture of the events. "
Thanks to very good image work and sensitive reporting, it was possible to put the victims of the attack and the suffering of their relatives at the center of the reporting.
The editorial staff gave the victims a face and dignity.

“We would have liked to have waived this award if we could undo the terrible deed.
Nevertheless, we are pleased about the award as an appreciation of our journalistic achievement.
