Kranzberg

- The expansion of the community cemetery in Kranzberg is ongoing. At the end of July, the work will be completed on schedule, as the building authority manager Manfred Thurner told the Freisinger Tagblatt at an on-site meeting. With around 430,000 euros, the last-mentioned budget has been met, for example an urn wall with 72 niches for two urns each. The urn wall also acts as a kind of retaining wall to the existing cemetery to the north and higher. Thurner explains that the new burial ground has been heaped up as a straight level to be handicapped accessible. In addition, the division of the grave field is flexible and various grave sizes can be allocated depending on needs and demands. In addition, there will also be some tree graves in the eastern area of the new area, Thurner assures, who is satisfied with the construction process: Everything is going as planned.

According to Thurner, the expansion of the cemetery will also go hand in hand with other improvements for visitors: instead of the previously two somewhat cramped parking spaces for cars, there will in future be seven parking spaces (one of which is a disabled parking space), as well as a turning hammer at the end of Obere Zeislstraße to turn around and To make it much easier to extend. The favorable moment and the backfill on a level surface were also used to provide an area in the southern area, adjacent to the new cemetery section and to overcome the difference in height from the street, on which containers for garbage and green waste will be located in the future. Because of the difference in height, visitors to the cemetery can easily fill them from above, but they can then just as easily be disposed of from the driveway.
