New survey: CDU and Laschet hurry away from the Greens - but the leadership of the Chancellor in front of Baerbock is like a slap in the face

The polls for the federal election now show a clear trend.

Armin Laschet is now also in the front - but the result of the Chancellor's questions does not feel like a “victory”.

Berlin - Will the federal election in September be a clear issue for the Union after all?

In any case, the current surveys suggest this: There is no longer any sign of a head-to-head race between the CDU / CSU and the Greens in the latest survey by the YouGov Institute.

According to these data, Armin Laschet also seems to be establishing himself as the favorite among the candidates for chancellor - albeit at a remarkably low level.

Greens in the next survey far behind Union - SPD remains stable

The Union achieved 30 percent in a current online survey by YouGov - as well as in the latest RTL / ntv trend barometer by the Forsa Institute.

However, a clear leap for the CDU and CSU can be seen in the institute's monthly survey.

And a small crash for the Greens: The Conservatives gain four percentage points here compared to the previous month.

The Greens are therefore with a loss of 3 points at 19 percent and thus in second place, followed by the SPD, which is stable at 15 percent.

In each case 11 percent of the participants answered the question “If there were general elections next Sunday, which party would you vote?” With AfD (stable) and FDP (one point loss).

The left ends up unchanged at 7 percent.

Survey: Baerbock behind Laschet and Scholz - but apparently none of the chancellor candidates seem convincing

If the people in Germany could vote for the chancellor directly, then the largest group of 40 percent would not vote for any of the three candidates for chancellor.

Among the three nominees, NRW Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) is ahead with 21 percent.

Behind it there is still a kind of head-to-head race - between Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) with 16 percent and Green leader Annalena Baerbock with 15 percent.

However, the Chancellor is not directly elected in Germany.

Instead, parties will be on the ballot for the federal election on September 26th, some of which will negotiate the formation of a coalition after the election.

Election polls are generally fraught with uncertainty. Among other things, declining party ties and increasingly short-term voting decisions make it more difficult for opinion research institutes to weight the data collected. YouGov cites a statistical error tolerance of 2.2 percentage points (with a proportion of 30 percent) and 1.1 points (with a proportion of 5 percent). According to the information, 2,000 people took part in the survey - from June 25 to 28, before the plagiarism debate about Baerbock. (
