Wild scenes took place in the Sparkasse in Kochel am See.

A 700-pound ox had stormed the foyer.

Passers-by sought protection inside the branch.

Kochel am See

- Christoph Laschka has been working for the Sparkasse for 30 years.

The Oberfischbacher thought that he had seen everything when it came to customers.

A fallacy.

Last Friday, an ox weighing 700 kilograms stormed into the Kochler branch and tried to escape the butcher.

The escape attempt ended fatally for the ox, people were not injured in the film-ready escape.

At first everything went as usual.

A farmer wanted to deliver the ox to the Pfleger butcher's shop in order to have it slaughtered.

When unloading, the animal guessed what fate awaited it.

With a blindfold tied around her head, she stormed across the street.

Three startled passers-by tried to get to safety inside the Sparkasse branch.

Laschka was amazed at the commotion and looked into the foyer.

There he discovered the ox turning on its own axis, smashing display cases and tearing a defibrillator from the wall.

After the room was devastated, the animal stormed out of the building, while Laschka said he reacted "very objectively".

He tried to get everyone out of the danger zone.

Then he went to his office.

"I wanted to inform people in-house that something had broken down here."

But the 53-year-old didn't get to that.

Suddenly he heard glass shatter in front of the building.

He looked out the window and could hardly believe his eyes: the ox had run around the building and tried to jump through the tailgate into the closed trunk of his Audi A1.

He pulled three butchers behind him, who initially did not manage to tame him.

The little car was the second winner.

“It is not intended for such a payload,” comments Laschka laconically.

The butchers tried to wrap the ropes around a traffic light. They quickly dismissed this thought, as the animal would have torn the traffic light from its anchorage. A few moments later, they found something sturdy enough: a concrete fence post. A jerk and the ox came to a stop. And then the animal had to give up its life.

“A wild bird story” comments the branch manager.

"Fortunately, the double doors between the self-service area and the inside of the branch office were closed, otherwise the ox would probably have continued to get in." With a smile, he adds: "I've never had such a customer, and neither have I ever had such a passenger in the car - often something new. ”After the incident, the car“ doesn't look good ”.

"That is a major damage." He could not give any information about the amount - all experts are currently busy with the hail damage in Wolfratshausen.

Why did ox run away?

Butcher's boss has a guess

"It is like it is.

We are very happy that no one was harmed, ”emphasizes Sparkasse spokesman Willi Streicher.

"The insurance companies should take care of the regulation of the damage."

Butcher's boss Birgit Pfleger sees it similarly: “You can only be glad that our butchers reacted very well and nothing worse happened.” She has never experienced a comparable incident.

Your explanation of why the ox ran away?

The stables are getting bigger and bigger, and at the same time the animals have less and less contact with the farmer: "That's why they're no longer used to being kept on a leash."

Another bizarre incident recently caused a stir in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district: A man had thrown a calf into the open celebration to grill, thus creating a risk of fire.
