Nuremberg - Today, Friday (July 2nd) is "Franconian Day".

The Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder * took this day as an opportunity to express his love for his homeland.

He wants to show what makes the Franconia region so special with a series of photos on Instagram.

For him it is a "very special day of honor".

The reactions to his contribution on the net are divided.

Markus Söders on Instagram: "Sometimes it takes a while to inspire a Swiss franc ..."

In the photo series, Söder can often be seen in his hometown of Nuremberg *.

The first picture shows him enjoying the view over the Franconian metropolis.

The third picture shows the typical Nuremberg sausages with sauerkraut.

Söder has been posting photos of delicacies more frequently in recent weeks.

In the gallery he also proudly holds a 1. FCN jersey with his name in the camera.

Photos of him at the Christkindlesmarkt and with a carnival mask in Franconia also made it into the photo series.

“Our region is characterized by its cultural awareness, hearty cuisine and a high level of loyalty,” writes the Prime Minister under his contribution.

“Sometimes it takes a while to inspire a Swiss franc - but then the friendship lasts for a lifetime,” continues Söder.

"The way you write it, it takes time for us to get warm," agrees one user, "but then you can steal horses with us." With the words "Franconia is simply beautiful" and a salmon smiley, Söder ends his Instagram Post.

User reactions are divided - some refer to him as "Impfzwang-Söder"

The reactions under the photos are different. Some users are enthusiastic: "You don't say in vain: 'Let God thank you for the Upper, Lower and Middle Franconia'". Another raves about the beautiful Franconian landscape. However, some users use Söder's post to criticize him for his testimony to Hubert Aiwanger on Tuesday. In front of the camera, Söder said to his Minister of Economics: "Maybe you can say something about why you just don't want to be vaccinated".

Some people don't seem to have liked that.

“It is not a good thing for a boss to force his colleagues in front of the cameras to provide personal justification for sensitive health issues,” wrote one user about the incident.

"Publicly criticize Aiwanger because he is not vaccinated - how deep can you sink, Mr. Söder?" Asks another.

In some other comments he is therefore referred to as "Vaccination Söder".
