Hans Steer is an institution in the Olching fire brigade.
He has been with us for over 60 years, and now the honorary commander celebrated his 80th birthday.
Commander Josef Gigl and club chairman Josef Wagner congratulated him and gave him a small present on his special day.
Olching - Steer has been a member of the Olching volunteer fire brigade since 1960.
He diligently climbed the volunteer career ladder.
From 1976 to 1994 he was first deputy and later commander.
So he was responsible for the fortunes of the weir for 18 years.
During his tenure, he set the course for the future of the fire brigade, as spokesman Hans Beyer announced.
Several vehicles were procured.
In 1983 the first rescue vehicle came for the then large community.
Steer was also significantly involved in the planning and construction of the extension to the fire department equipment house, which lasted from 1986 to 1993.
When he resigned as commander, he continued as a district fire chief and active manager.
In 2001 he was finally appointed honorary commander of the Olching fire brigade.
Around 20 years ago, active service was also over. But Steer did not want to stop completely: from 2004 to 2007 he was the chairman of the fire brigade association. at all
