In a podcast there is talk of "big news" from the Royals.
Fans immediately suspected that Duchess Kate is pregnant again.
What's behind it?
London / Munich - As is well known, the Royals are often the big topic in Great Britain.
So it's no wonder that there is also a podcast: “Pod Save The Queen - Royal family news, interviews and fashion”.
On the June 17, 2021 episode, podcast host Ann Gripper and Russell Myers, editor of the
Daily Mirror
and Royal expert,
spoke
about "big news" from Kensington Palace.
Kate and William: British podcast mentions “big news” - and fires up the rumor mill
Is Duchess Kate, wife of Prince William, pregnant again?
At least that's what many Royal fans assumed when they heard the podcast.
Inadvertently, Russel Myers and Ann Gripper fired the rumor mill.
Myers spoke of great news - but it couldn't be more specific.
So there is a lot of leeway for the royal fans to guess.
A week later (June 24th), the big announcement was finally on the podcast again.
Because not only many fans of the British royal family thought that Kate was pregnant, but also Ann Gripper's husband.
When they finished recording the podcast episode, Gripper said, her husband asked, "She's not pregnant again, is she?"
“I thought, 'Oh God!'
It didn't even cross my mind, I never thought that some people might think it was a baby, ”Gripper said with a laugh.
Myers also asked listeners what the announcement was all about.
"Some people wrote to me, 'Oh my god, is she pregnant?'
and I was like, 'Oh Lord, what have I done?' ”he said on the podcast episode.
Baby news with Kate and William?
Nil - "think they won't get any more"
Because Gripper and Myers didn't want to allude to baby news in their podcast - because there simply shouldn't be any. “I think they have three children, they won't have more,” Gripper said of Kate and William. The big news about Duchess Kate ultimately had nothing to do with a new pregnancy. Instead, Kate announced her "Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood". Meanwhile, her son Prince George caused a laugh at the European Championship match between England and Germany.
