Vienna - In the case of the 13-year-olds killed last weekend in the Austrian capital Vienna, the responsible regional court has now imposed pre-trial detention for two suspects. These are a 16- and an 18-year-old from Afghanistan, as

. A spokeswoman for the responsible court announced that the detention center was ordered on suspicion of rape and death, but could be changed to murder if further investigations give cause.
However, this would make no difference in terms of the expected sentence.
If convicted, the 16-year-old faces a prison sentence of up to 15 years according to youth criminal law.
The 18-year-old, as a young adult, faces up to 20 years if convicted.

On Friday, the 16-year-old suspect first commented on the incident in the presence of his lawyer and denied having been involved in the killing of the 13-year-old.
He stated that he and the victim had been a couple for a month and that, like the victim, he had been drugged by third parties.
“Leonie and I got a mixed drink.
There should have been knockout drops in there.
Then I was completely gone, ”said the suspect.
"He doesn't know what happened next," said the 16-year-old's lawyer.

bragged
about an "escalated sex night" to an acquaintance. Since his reports are said to have been so realistic, the acquaintance then notified the police, who were able to arrest the suspects.
So far, it is believed that the 16-year-old suspect had taken the victim to the 18-year-old's apartment.
A 23-year-old, who is now also in police custody, is also said to have been there.
In addition, the police are still looking for a 22-year-old in connection with the crime.
What exactly happened in the apartment is still unclear.
During the autopsy of the victim, a death from asphyxiation was found.
