- There has now been a change in the management of the Traffic Police Inspection (VPI) Freising: The 40-year-old police officer Mithun Küffner is the new man in the executive chair.
This was announced by the Upper Bavaria North Police Headquarters on Friday afternoon.
Küffner is married and has three children.
The next task as part of his leadership test is now waiting for Chief Criminal Investigator Tobias Ohrner, who has headed the department for the past six months.
Police advisor Küffner has already mastered a wide variety of tasks in the course of his career with the Bavarian police.
Some of them have had a particular impact on him and have already prepared him for the time he is now starting at the VPI.
After passing the exams of the second qualification level in Königsbrunn (Augsburg district), the then 20-year-old started his service with the mission team in Munich in March 2001.
There and afterwards, Küffner was able to acquire extensive knowledge and gain a wide range of experience at various offices and in a wide variety of positions in the police headquarters of the state capital.
New police chief gained experience at the 2006 soccer World Cup
Above all, he remembered the almost two-year activity as a youth officer at Munich Police Station 27 as a special time. As a link between the young citizens and the police, he was able to pay special attention to the preventive work, which gave him a lot of pleasure. For the new management position, he gained particularly useful experience as part of a delegation to the scene-aware officials of the PP Munich for the time of the football World Cup 2006 and got to know one of the work areas of the Freising traffic police station, his current place of work.
Even after advancing to the third qualification level in 2012, he continued to do his duty at the Munich Police Headquarters.
From October 2017, the committed police officer began studying for the fourth level of qualification at the German Police University and after this advancement was assigned to numerous emergency situations in a responsible position in Munich.
Management position after more than 22 years of police service
After more than 22 years in the police force, Küffner is now looking forward to his management position as head of the department.
He has always wanted to take on such management responsibility one day.
At Küffner's start in Freising, Police President Günther Gietl also wished him good luck, success and joy in his new position.
