SANA’s camera visited the village to learn more about the advantages and tourism elements that made it a point of tourist attraction, and met with the mayor of its municipality, Hassan Haider, who described the tourist turnout in the village as good despite the current conditions due to its attractive nature, mild weather, many springs and water springs, and the presence of a series of restaurants And the parks and cafes scattered throughout the village, and the generosity and kindness of its people and their hospitality to the guests and visitors of the village.
On the reason for naming the village by its name, Haidar explained that the name came in relation to the existence of an ancient wheat mill working on water, where the mill was combined with the sweetness and charm of nature, in addition to the shape of flour that resembles sweetness, as most sources and accounts indicate, pointing out that the population of the village is 4000 people, most of them work in agriculture and some of them In tourism and services, Al-Halawa Mill is characterized by its picturesque nature, its fresh water, its dense forests of multiple species, and its perennial trees that are unique in the region, some of which range in diameter from 70 cm to 2 meters and height from 30 to 40 meters.
He pointed out that one of the tourist and forestry symbols that distinguishes the village is also the spread of Syrian elm forests that are abundant in it, in addition to its proximity to other archaeological monuments, such as the ancient city of Apamea, with its embrace of areas that are originally archaeological, such as the archaeological Khan al-Halawa and others.
At this time of the year, the village restaurants witness a heavy turnout from delegations and tourist groups who spend a whole day in the restaurant, where joy, fun, folk songs and the eye enjoy the views of charming nature while eating popular and popular dishes.
Abu Muhammad from Hama, one of the village’s visitors, says that one of the reasons he and his family frequently visit the village is that it is located in a geographical area where the plain and the mountain meet in a picturesque scene, which makes us take any holiday to visit the village and enjoy its sights that give people comfort and joy.

Al-Halawa Mill is located sixty-five kilometers northwest of the city of Hama and enjoys a wonderful view of the Al-Ghab Plain.
