A major fire broke out this Saturday at the end of the morning in the Massif de la Clape, in the town of Narbonne (Aude).
An intervention by firefighters is underway to control the fire which extends over a hundred hectares: twelve forest fire trucks have been mobilized and four canadairs are rotating in the affected area.
According to France 3 Occitanie, 200 to 300 hectares of undergrowth are threatened while the fire is heading towards the town of Gruissan. The road to Narbonne Plage was cut as a precaution. "
There is little wind, but the problem is that it turns,"
said firefighters to France 3. This massif is regularly closed in summer to preserve dry and wooded areas.
