Like last year, there will be no Nuremberg Classic Open Air in 2021.

Other events have also been canceled.

Nuremberg - This year, too, culture fans will have to forego the City of Nuremberg's Classic Open Air *, for the second time in a row.

As the city has now announced in a message, the Nuremberg Luitpoldhain will remain empty as the largest and greenest concert hall in Europe.

The reason for this is the applicable statutory Corona * hygiene regulations.

The event usually attracted up to 80,000 people to Nuremberg.

Nuremberg's classical concerts are canceled - “Stars in Luitpoldhain” also affected

The “Stars im Luitpoldhain” planned for August 8th with the Nuremberg drummer Wolfgang Haffner and the German Allstar Big Band cannot take place either. Annoying, because the planning for three classical concerts on Saturday (July 24th), Sunday (July 25th) and Saturday (August 7th) had already progressed. Since, instead of the planned 8,000 guests, only a maximum of 1,500 people were allowed to take part, the series of events was canceled. The reason: That could not do justice to the cultural factor for the entire urban society.

“I very much regret that we cannot come together for this unique musical enjoyment in Luitpoldhain this summer because of the corona pandemic.

In order to protect everyone with a heavy heart, we decided to postpone the open-air concerts for citizens until 2022, ”said Mayor Marcus König.

All concerts are to be rescheduled in 2022

“These major events thrive on the enormous popularity of the Nuremberg citizenship.

I now very much hope that we can all meet again next year at the Klassik Open Air and at Stars in Luitpoldhain and celebrate these very special cultural festivals together in front of a unique natural backdrop, ”explained Mayor Prof. Dr.

Julia Lehner.

Fans of classical music can mark dates for the coming year in red on the calendar.

On July 24th and August 6th, 2022, the city's two large orchestras will play on the Luitpoldhain.

On August 7th, 2022 “Stars in Luitpoldhain” should also be made up for.
