Cantal: 156 animals saved from an individual's home by a refuge

At the request of the Aurillac prosecutor's office, volunteers from the Bort-les-Orgues (Corrèze) refuge evacuated these animals who lived in a pavilion "in deplorable hygienic conditions".


Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, poultry, rodents: 156 animals were evacuated from the home of a private individual aged 36, located in the small village of Ally (Cantal), according to information from France Bleu confirmed in

After several reports of residents and walkers, the Aurillac prosecutor's office opened an investigation and charged the Bort-les-Orgues (Corrèze) refuge with this operation, which required several days of preparation.

Animal corpses

Friday July 2, nearly thirty volunteers intervened in Ally with the support of the gendarmerie.

They discovered a small pavilion filled with animals

"housed in deplorable hygienic conditions"

, but also animal corpses.

According to Alexandre Chauvet, president of the animal refuge in Bort, the rescued animals were duly listed, then were either placed in the refuge, or entrusted to other associations or to host families.
