Holzkirchen - The citizens' initiative “Living differently together” is pleased that the concept has been awarded for the communal property in the Maitz.

"We and other Holzkirchen groups can finally reap the fruits that we have sown with our actions and our commitment," emphasized spokesman Sebastian Oppermann in a press release.

It was the end of 2017 when the regulars 'table for the citizens' initiative “Living differently together” was formed. Many discussions followed with the community and landowners, as well as high-profile campaigns. At the beginning of 2019, the citizens 'initiative submitted an application to the citizens' assembly that land may only be granted by the municipality on long leases. This application was approved by those present, but not later by the municipal councils - individual points went too far for the committee. "Nonetheless, the idea behind it ensured that the municipal council decided in July 2019 to lease the plot of land in the Maitz by means of a concept," writes the initiative. The municipality recently published the application documents, applications are now possible until the beginning of October (we reported).

"The result shows that it is worthwhile to get involved politically and socially," says Oppermann.

In his eyes, this starting shot should only be the first of many other long-term lease concept awards.

"The population and the municipal councils will quickly recognize the added value of this type of housing creation due to the numerous creative and well-founded applications," says Oppermann with certainty.

Fellow campaigners of the citizens' initiative are themselves working on an application for the property in the Maitz.

A resolution by the municipal council is planned for January 2022, and the reservation phase could begin in February 2022.
