Homs-Sana
The Civil Defense and the Homs Agriculture Directorate put out today a fire that broke out with dry herbs and forest trees in the Homs countryside.
Brigadier General Ghiath Akil, director of civil defense in Homs, told SANA reporter that the branch’s operations room received a report about a fire that broke out in dry herbs, eucalyptus and cypress trees near the Trans Al Sharq Oil Manufacturing Company on the Homs-Damascus road, south of Homs. Agriculture managed to cordon off the fire before it spread to the company due to the strong winds in the area, and they were able to put out the fire and carry out cooling operations to prevent its recurrence, noting that the burned area amounted to about 5 dunums.
Two days ago, Homs firefighting cadres put out a fire of dry herbs and fruit trees in the Al-Hilaliya area, north of Homs.
