Extinguishing two fires in dry grasses in Wadi Al-Ash’ari and a wheat field in Nawa, Daraa

Yesterday, the members of the fire brigade, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate in Daraa governorate, put out two large fires that broke out in Wadi Al-Ash’ari and Nawa city in the governorate’s countryside.

The commander of the fire brigade, Colonel Muhammad Mahamid, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the fire that broke out in Wadi Al-Ash’ari affected large areas of it, especially that it is characterized by its ruggedness and its cover with herbs and forest trees, as it took four hours to extinguish it to control and cool it and prevent its spread to the water pumping project.

Mahamid indicated that the regiment managed to put out a second fire that affected about five dunums of a wheat field in the city of Nawa in the western countryside of the governorate, encircling it and preventing its spread to other fields.

He pointed out that nine other fires in grasses and trees were extinguished in the cities of Daraa, Ankhil and Busra al-Sham due to the high temperatures.
