An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of the Fiji Islands in the Pacific Ocean yesterday, but there were no reports of injuries or material damage.
The US Geological Survey said the quake occurred at a depth of 605 km, 470 km southeast of Suva, the capital of Fiji.
