A new sign of life from Alexey Navalny: The opposition politician makes meaningful comparisons on his Instagram account.

Moscow - The imprisoned Russian opposition politician Alexej Navalny drew a parallel between himself and Harry Potter in a recent Instagram post. The published photo shows the 44-year-old on a bench in front of a forest landscape at an unspecified location. The Kremlin critic has been in custody since returning to Russia in January 2021. A Russian court sentenced him to several years in a prison camp for allegedly violating probation conditions - although the violation of the reporting requirement was due to his treatment in the Berlin Charité after a poison attack.

In the post on the social platform Instagram, he writes: “The censorship will kill me.

The probability of this increases day by day. ”In the further course of the report, he describes the person who controls his letters as“ woman censorship ”.

The comparison to the novel character Harry Potter by author JK Rowling falls here.

He feels like the magician in the first volume of the novel series, you can read on Nawalny's account.

Potter also receives letters from the Hogwarts Wizarding School at the beginning of the book - but these are withdrawn from him.

“It's like me, only without the owls and wizards,” says Nawalny's text.

Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny reports from custody: Oppositionist draws comparisons with Harry Potter

“The convoy takes me from colony to colony, from there to the hospital, from there to the colony. Wherever I go, an officer comes into my cell and says in a tired voice: 'Navalny, this is for you to sign'. And gives me a big bag full of letters, telegrams and postcards, ”said Navalny. There is also a Potter reference in this passage. His cell is not comparable to the cupboard under the stairs - in which Potter lives at the beginning of the story. Whether that means that his cell is worse than Harry Potter's closet remains open to interpretation.

Navalny further states that the envelopes of his letters were always opened and imagines how "Frau Zensur" censors each of his words - and goes crazy over this work.

In another passage of the text it is written that the long list of those who want to kill him, in addition to secret services and oligarchs, now also includes the woman who censors his letters.

Navalny, who had his birthday at the beginning of June, thanks him for the congratulations that came to him in this way.

At the same time he reminds of the many political prisoners in Russia and emphasizes the importance of each one of them knowing that they are not alone.

They all wished they could "take the Hogwarts Express home".
