The negative pressure system alarm in the ward on the first floor of Building E of the center sounded at 8 pm the previous day (2nd). The center immediately arranged for engineering personnel to check and found that the negative pressure system display was malfunctioning and triggered the alarm.
After inspection, the engineering staff confirmed that the negative pressure system of the relevant patient has been maintained normally without increasing the risk of infection.
During this period, the staff in the ward will transfer a patient to another patient so that the service contractor can repair the relevant display.
On June 29, the negative pressure system alarm in the underground isolation ward of Building E rang for a while, and it was later confirmed that it was a fault.
On June 22, in the same building E, the underground ward had failed due to mechanical and electrical components, which caused the exhaust fan to fail, and the negative pressure system of some patients was suspended. During this period, a patient with new coronary pneumonia was admitted to the hospital in the affected isolation ward. The hospital believes The risk of infection caused by the incident is very low.
The Hong Kong Infection Control Center of North Lantau Hospital, which was undertaken by the central government, was completed on January 20 this year, providing 820 negative pressure beds.
It was put into use at the end of February.
