Top chef Kwabena Ofori is setting up an event location on Freisinger Straße.

Cooking is Kwabena Ofori's passion.

He will live out this in the future at Freisinger Straße 1 in Erding.

There he leased the rooms in the basement, which until recently housed “Karin's food for body and soul”.

Ofori wants to create a “connoisseur club” there.

“Actually, I wasn't looking for a restaurant.

I just wanted to rent a kitchen, ”says the family man (42), who lives in Walpertskirchen with his wife Eva and three children.

The top chef had already cooked the Erdinger at star level for three years, at that time in his “Aubergine” restaurant, and thus gained a large fan base.

Since December 2019, the native Ghanaian has been selling homemade sauces, soups, noodles and spices under the “Oforis Style” label.

He has been selling these on Thursdays on the Green Market since the corona pandemic.

Ofori is now also present on the markets in Ebersberg, Freising, Bockhorn and Wartenberg, and its products are also available in its online shop, various shops and farm shops in the region.

“I now need a professional kitchen to produce the sauces and soups,” explains Ofori. From August he can work in the former "Karin's", which is currently being converted according to his wishes. He is grateful to his landlords, the Auer family, for their support. The plan is not a normal restaurant, but an event location. In his "Club of Connoisseurs" he will prepare a surprise menu once a month for everyone who wants to enjoy the meal, Ofori announced: "I want to pass on my passion for cooking and motivate the guests to try something new."

The “Club der Genießer” can also be rented for events, lectures or celebrations, with Ofori as a cook or with or without catering.

The father of three can also imagine offering cooking courses for children in cooperation with schools.

"I have developed further, have become calmer and more mature and have found my way," explains Ofori.

He enjoyed having more time for his family during the corona pandemic: "My insight from Corona is: It only works together."

A new creation is about to enter the market for its gourmet sauces.

Together with the Erdinger cabaret artist Monika Gruber, Ofori developed the "Scharfe Moni".

“It's a sauce with a lot of fire, with a great combination of mint, aubergine and chilli,” he reveals enthusiastically.

While the first reservations for the new event location in Erding are already arriving on social media, fans of the “Scharfen Moni” will soon be able to test the creation in the markets and in the online shop.

And Kwabena Ofori, whose favorite dish is still the classic Wiener Schnitzel, can throw himself into his new project with full passion.
