The Technical Committee for Basketball in As-Suwayda held a sports festival in the mini-basket for juniors and girls, with the participation of about 200 players from Al-Arabi, Al-Kafr, Lahitha, Al-Raha, Douma and Arman clubs.
The festival, which was hosted by Al-Basel Hall in Al-Mazraa Sports City, included presenting a set of individual skills, shooting, passing, dribbling, and refresher matches.
In a statement to SANA's sports representative, Kamal Al-Saleem, a member of the Supreme Committee for the Mini-Basketball Association in the Basketball Association, said that this festival is being held for the first time in the governorate and is in line with efforts to expand the basketball base and spread it in the Suwayda governorate.
In turn, the head of the technical committee of the game, Muhannad Munther, pointed out that the festival came with the aim of attracting players to this sport and introducing them to it more, in order to motivate them to follow up with the clubs.
A number of heads of clubs participating in the festival explained that the participation of their clubs comes to encourage young players by bringing them closer to the atmosphere of the game that carries fun and enjoys mass follow-up.
The coach, Jana Abu Hassoun, considered the festival an important activity for the governorate's sport and an opportunity to motivate players to follow the path in this game.
