The daily search for water by the people of Al-Hasakah reflects the worst types of terrorism against more than a million citizens suffering from thirst as a result of the Turkish occupier and its terrorist mercenaries cutting off water from the residents.

Stories of suffering that the people of al-Hasakah have experienced since the Turkish occupier invaded the lands of the city of Ras al-Ain and took control of the Allouk water station and cut off the only water source for the city of al-Hasakah and dozens of villages and other residential communities, in light of the silence imposed by international organizations and bodies towards a war crime described according to international conventions.

Umm Nasser, the elderly woman, with her young grandchildren, hurries to take advantage of the short period in which one of the tanks of one of the associations is present, and fills what she can carry to her home, in more than one batch. To fill our water needs,” noting that there are families who do not have anyone to support them and find themselves forced, despite the old family members and illness, to fill water from tanks.

Umm Nasser stresses that despite the importance of the efforts of government agencies and organizations to provide water through tanks and tanks, they remain “simple solutions that are unable to secure the full need of drinking water for citizens,” calling for “finding solutions to return the Allouk station to work as it is the only water source for the people of the city.”

Umm Ibrahim, an elderly woman, talks about the extent of the suffering of transporting water from the tank at the end of the street at this age, “but there is no way to save water except in this way, which is not without hardship and fatigue in light of the high temperature.”

Umm Ibrahim points out that “some of the weak-willed owners of private tanks take advantage of the people’s need for water to raise prices continuously,” indicating that she filled 5 barrels of water from a private tank at a price of 10,000 Syrian pounds, a quantity that does not cover the needs of two people for 5 days.

Jamal al-Hajj Jazaa, known as Abu Subhi, 52 years old, who lives in the city center, tells SANA reporter: “The situation is worsening and the suffering is increasing day by day. The occupier has no conscience, and his mercenaries are thieves.” He adds: “Every day I find myself forced to mobilize even a small part of the Water, I monitor the tanks that work with the organizations to be the first to fill their pots with water to meet my daily needs.”

Abu Subhi continues: “More than two months ago, the water did not reach the main network and the water from surface wells in the city center, most of it dried up. It used to fill part of the household consumption. Today, temperatures are high and consumption is large, and what is transported through tanks fills only a small part of the need.”

He points with his hand to hundreds of people gathering at one of the tanks and says: "This scene has become around the clock and the crime of the Turkish occupier is described, and international and international bodies stand helpless in the face of a crime that threatens an entire region with thirst."

As the Turkish occupier continued his crime, the governorate and the concerned authorities took a number of emergency measures to secure drinking water for the people of Al-Hasakah city, such as increasing the number of tankers that transport water to the city center and implementing many initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Organization for the Red Cross. United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF and NGOs and charities.
