Rescue teams recovered two more bodies from the rubble of the collapsed building in Surfside on Friday night, local authorities reported Saturday morning.
With these findings, the death toll rose to 24, and the missing figure dropped to 124 after authorities readjusted the list of people whose whereabouts are unknown.
The authorities were also questioned about how the demolition process of the building that continues to stand and that endangers the people who carry out the tasks will be carried out.
The demolition will begin this Sunday, to prevent further problems in the event that Elsa hits the area.
"When I spoke with you yesterday afternoon, we had not heard from this demolition expert," explained Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
"This particular company can proceed quickly. We decided that this is a good decision. Last night we were understanding the situation and this morning they came to assess in more detail the next steps."

They were also very concerned about the path of Tropical Storm Elsa, which earlier lost strength, but could affect South Florida, affecting rescue efforts.
