If the Roman house already had the address Place Vendôme (at the corner of rue de la Paix and rue des Capucines), it can now be proud of having a view and an entrance on the famous column. Which is no small feat for a renowned jeweler. Bulgari (pronounce "Boulgari", like aficionados dragging on the first syllable) has just unveiled the pharaonic work of renovation and expansion of its flagship store (intended to present high jewelry), under the aegis of the architect Peter Marino - site which required moving, on the square side, an access porch to the upper floors for the other tenants. Decorated with warm-colored marble, wallpapers and shimmering drapes, the row of lounges on two levels now occupies all the windows on this side of the building.
The Italian jeweler (acquired by LVMH in 2011) has therefore been based in Paris for five decades, alongside his French colleagues.
