He confirmed that he had resigned from the Standing Committee last month and became the first Stake Standing Committee to retire. Zhao En has served as a member of the Stake Standing Committee for seven consecutive terms from 2014 to 2015, and his councilor's office became a group member on April 21, 2020.
Zhao Enlai said in response to inquiries that although he retired as a member of the Standing Committee, the office is still a member of the stake.
The stake was originally composed of more than 200 member groups, but since April there has been a wave of retreats, including the office of Mr. Leung Yiu-chung, the Civic Party, Li Zhiqiang, etc.

The Stake re-elected its leadership in December last year. The new standing committee was reduced from 20 to 14. The chairman Li Zhuoren said at the time that the reduction in the number of standing committee members was aimed at streamlining the structure and improving the decision-making efficiency of the stake.
