An American champion in the art of devouring hot dogs, broke his own record Sunday, July 5, swallowing 76 of those sausage sandwiches in 10 minutes during a competition in New York.

Joey Chesnut, known as "
Jaws
", won for the 14th time the traditional Nathan's International Hot Dog Eating Competition held every July 4th, on the occasion of the United States National Day.
The champion, who had swallowed 75 last year, crushed his competitors, swallowing 26 sausages and brioche bread more than his runner-up Geoffrey Esper.
Due to restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, the contest did not take place outside Nathan's hot dog restaurant in Coney Island, Brooklyn, but in a nearby baseball park, home to 5,000 spectators.
