In the early hours of July 1, many bottles of flammable substances were thrown at the Government House. Following the arrest of a man in Ma On Shan earlier, the police arrested a 19-year-old woman involved in the case.
According to the police, after in-depth investigations by the Organized Crime and Triad Investigation Bureau, another 19-year-old local woman named Lu was arrested in Sha Tin District at about 6 am today (5th) on suspicion of conspiring to arson.
She is currently being detained for investigation.
Earlier, a 24-year-old male suspect was arrested in Ma On Shan by throwing a home-made firebomb on the hillside of Government House
The incident occurred in the early morning of July 1, when a man threw an earthen firebomb at the Central Government House, which landed on a small slope grassland within the fence, and exploded and caught fire.
The police arrived at the scene to investigate and found 6 cassette LPG tanks and 4 cylinders of combustion aid. The Explosives Disposal Division found that the items were combined to make an incendiary bomb. No one was injured in the incident.
The case was handed over to the Organized Crime and Triad Investigation Division for investigation, and a 24-year-old unemployed Chinese man was arrested in Ma On Shan on July 2.
