Kottgeisering - With this and other quotes from the “Water Doctor”, Kottgeisering's cultural advisor Kirstin Kortländer honors Pastor Sebastian Kneipp, whose birthday is 200 years old this year. Along with Kneipp wisdom, there are also events from the life of the therapist, who was initially highly controversial among medical professionals, on three boards. And there are recommendations for applications, casts and wraps, with which Kneipp achieved fame and still has many followers 124 years after his death. Fittingly, the boards are on the Mutterbach, which was only brought to the attention of the Kottgeiseringer in 2020 and invites you to Kneipp after a natural renovation.

The stream water, which only flows openly a few hundred meters at this point in the middle of the village, is quite cold. "Excellent for treading water," says Maria Klotz, who audibly gasps when getting in. The Kneipp area, where a few steps lead down to the creek, is easily accessible through the new footpath over the Anger and is now provided with handrails to hold on to. “This village renewal project was a good investment,” said Klotz. "The bike tour to Kneipp facilities put together by the district office was the reason for me to set up a station in Kottgeisering," reports Kortländer. Because the official tour runs exclusively through the eastern district, the Kottgeiseringer Kneipp facility is only known through word of mouth. It is located 300 meters northwest of the parish church of St.Valentin between Ammersee- and Dorfstraße. The boards should stay there until the end of the summer vacation.
