The Legislative Council election will be held in December this year. New Thinking set up a street stand in Tai Kok Tsui today (5th) to propose to the public to reform the government's governance system. This is the first time the party has left the district after the electoral system was revised.

Vice Chairman Huang Junlang said that three to four members of the party are currently considering running for the Legislative Council. He and Chairman Di Zhiyuan prefer to serve in Kowloon West and Kowloon Central. Others will also consider direct elections, but they have not ruled out participation in functional constituency elections. Emphasize on looking for professionals and communicating with them.

Huang Junlang also called on the Democratic Party and other non-establishment parties to consider running for the election, believing that there is still room for a voice in the parliament.

Di Zhiyuan said that there is currently communication with individual non-establishment parties, hoping that the non-establishment parties will have more room for cooperation both inside and outside the parliament.

Calls on non-organizational organizations to participate in the election of people's livelihood issues in the parliament can cross-party cooperation

Huang Junlang said that the new thinking held an enlarged meeting of organizations and political parties last Saturday. Participants included party friends, including those who are interested in cooperating. At the meeting, they agreed to actively consider participating in the election.

Huang also pointed out that the party currently has about 20 members, including about 10 newcomers.

Di Zhiyuan said that they are positioned as a non-organizational system, focusing mainly on the lives of the middle and lower classes, and also support the implementation of dual universal suffrage as soon as possible in accordance with the Basic Law.

Huang Junlang said that his political platform is a democratic and moderate line, but does not tend to divide the political spectrum internally. It mainly focuses on people’s livelihood issues, including the welfare of the elderly and youth issues. The relationship between citizens is more than we can use the political spectrum to deal with the issue of our position today."

Regarding the Democratic Party’s Vice Chairman Li Yongda’s earlier statement that the opposition to the election has increased, Huang Junlang called on both the Democratic Party and non-organizational organizations to stand for the election. He believed that if the parliamentary platform is not properly used, there will be no chance to speak up.

Huang Junlang mentioned that there have been meetings with different people from all walks of life, such as regional organizations, and emphasized that anyone with a background is willing to meet.

He believes that if one can enter the parliament, in addition to political issues, democratic issues can be cross-party cooperation.

The party logo will be changed later

Di Zhiyuan said that there may be more radical advocates boycotting the vote, but he believes that there are also voters who want to seek truth from facts and improve Hong Kong's future development.

He bluntly or some people think that they are not radical and support the government, but he emphasized that the party has always promoted government changes. "Dialogue is better than confrontation. Dialogue does not mean obedient." He hopes that voters can understand.

They also pointed out that in the next few days, street stations will be set up in Kowloon, and the new thinking will also start to change its image later. For example, political party signs will be changed. It is expected that they will be explained to the public in the next one or two weeks.
