The Communist Party of China celebrates 100 years rewriting history
It is seen that rejuvenating China, Xi Jinping's dream, has more scope than returning greatness to Donald Trump's America. The New York tycoon was thinking about the political fantasies of his childhood, when his country was getting used to the newly conquered status of a superpower, in dispute with the Soviet Union at the beginning of the Cold War. It is not enough for Xi that China is great again, but wants to place it where it claims to be according to the meaning of the word itself: the Empire of the Center.
Xi dates back to a distant time, when the emperor received ambassadors from remote Europe as if they were subjects subject to his vassalage and the Western empires had not yet extended their dominance across Asia.
On the other hand, Trump's modesty is extreme.
Under his disastrous baton, it is enough for the American that the Republicans win the next midterm elections to try to win back the White House in 2024, while the Chinese wants to show that the communist party, under his leadership, has the power to shape the past to your liking and control the future down to the last detail.
The centenary of the founding of the party that has been celebrated this week should serve to persuade the world, and before the Chinese themselves, of the proximity of the

, the crucial moment when China will become the first superpower, even at the military level, and will subject Asian countries to its own Monroe doctrine - America for the Americans - as the United States has applied it for two centuries. The idea of James Monroe, the fifth president, had two consequences: to dominate the neighbors and to expel the Europeans, until it prohibited them from interfering in American affairs. Xi Jinping wants to go on his way: annex Taiwan, drive the United States out of the surrounding seas, contain Japan and defeat India, the only neighboring power that can overshadow it because of its demographics, its economy and its nuclear weapon.
The tradition invented by Chinese communism dates back to that month of July a hundred years ago, when two Bolshevik agents sent by Moscow met in Shanghai with a handful of inexperienced Chinese agitators, including the young Mao Zedong. Maoism connects with Confucianism, and its party dictatorship with the imperial mandarinate, the two thousand-year-old relics that Xi Jinping has promised to rejuvenate.
