Apart from its new shade of gray, the “Petite Tapisserie” dial reveals the same typography for the signature and the monogram as the original Royal Oak, reference 5402 series A. The case and bracelet of this Only Watch model combine titanium with metallic glass. - a new palladium-based material used for the first time at Audemars Piguet. Developed from palladium, this alloy shares certain characteristics with other types of glass when cooled rapidly, such as amorphism and hardness. These properties give it a high resistance to wear and corrosion while its non-crystalline nature gives it a unique play of light.Used for the bezel, the sapphire case back and the bracelet studs, the metallic glass has been polished, offering an elegant contrast to the case and the links of the bracelet. The dial of this unique Only Watch piece combines a new shade of gray with the aesthetic codes of the original Royal Oak from 1972 (ref. 5402 series A).
The printed signature “Audemars Piguet”, the words “Automatic” at 12 o'clock and the applied initials at 6 o'clock have the same position and typography as the very first Royal Oak.
In addition, the original printed denomination "Swiss" has been maintained below the index at 6 o'clock.
