Al-Hasakah Governor Ghassan Khalil discussed with the Director of the World Health Organization’s office in Syria, Dr. Akjmal Makhtumova, the impact of the Turkish regime and its terrorist mercenaries cutting drinking water for one million citizens in Al-Hasakah, and the resulting diseases carried through the water that is transferred to the people, such as pandemics and diarrhea.

And in a statement to the media after the meeting between Khalil, that the citizen in Al-Hasakah Governorate looks at the international community and humanitarian organizations during the current period through a glass of water. It is given to the citizens and given to the target groups through the centers of the Al-Hasakah Health Directorate and its mobile teams.

Khalil pointed out that the health sector in the governorate suffers from the practices of the SDF militia linked to the American occupation, which seized the majority of hospitals, clinics and health centers and took them out of service to deprive citizens of services that were provided to them free of charge, calling for the need to strengthen cooperation and support the government health sector with medical supplies. and medicines to provide optimal services.

For her part, Maktumova expressed the World Health Organization's concern about the impact of cutting off drinking water from Hasaka, and said we are working hard to ensure the quality of the water.

Maktumova indicated that the World Health Organization continues to support the governorate in order to deliver the Corona vaccine and is making all efforts to obtain and give vaccines to citizens in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, as it is able to reach all citizens in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The Director of the World Health Organization office explained that the organization provided 330 tons of medical aid to Al-Hasakah governorate during the past year, and it will continue to provide possible support, especially with the issue of the Corona vaccine, to continue implementing the vaccination campaigns for citizens.
