Can compulsory vaccination for caregivers be adopted from July?

VERIFICATION - Government spokesman Gabriel Attal raised the possibility that a bill will be tabled before the end of the month. Meeting in extraordinary session, Parliament nevertheless follows an agenda already set by decree.

Praised for countering the spread of the Delta variant, compulsory vaccination for caregivers is increasingly becoming part of the public debate.

Welcomed by the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, the measure is now the subject of a consultation led by Jean Castex with the leaders of Parliament and local elected officials.

At the same time, a column published in the

JDD

relayed the words of 100 doctors urging the government to adopt the measure "

before the beginning of September

".

If the executive wants to go through with the process, it will be forced to change the law.

A text will therefore have to be drafted to add vaccination against Covid-19 to the list of compulsory vaccines already in force.

certain consensus

" on the issue, government spokesman Gabriel Attal assured that a bill could be "

presented before the end of the parliamentary session
