Cartoonist Raed Khalil won the special prize at the 7th International Verizage Festival in Kosovo, with the participation of 1,450 paintings by 260 artists from 53 countries from around the world.
Khalil's winning painting depicted the subject of superstitions in our vast world of whims and how some societies view them by relying on inherited phenomena and cases within a cynical and critical style.
In his critical drawings, Khalil seeks to shed light on social, humanitarian and patriotic issues, as well as the positive and negative aspects of life and society worldwide.
It is noteworthy that the artist Khalil was born in 1973. He is a cartoonist for the Al-Baath newspaper and the Syrian Arab TV. He participated in many international exhibitions and won many awards and certificates of appreciation. He is the editor and supervisor of the Syrian caricature website and director of the Syria International Caricature Festival since its launch in 2005 and won many local and Arab awards. and international.
