Uwe Penner is far from finished: The chairman of the Free Voters in Gammelsdorf wants to continue to get involved in local politics.

Gammelsdorf

- "Many were happy that he is now out of the window," says Uwe Penner, the chairman of the twelve-member local association of Free Voters in Gammelsdorf. He started as mayoral candidate for the community group Gammelsdorf in the 2020 local elections and then even missed re-election to the local council. In the general assembly of the FW he was confirmed in office for two years - and acted aggressively.

"I'm more active than before," said Uwe Penner in response to the supposed hopes of his opponents to get rid of him. His mayoral candidacy against Raimunda Menzel was of course hopeless, "but so the other side had to submit at least an election manifesto". It is "good for Gammelsdorf that there are two parties here," said the FW district chairwoman Maria Scharlach from the neighboring community of walls.

The new elections for the local board were done after a few minutes.

Uwe Penner was unanimously re-elected as local chairman and indicated in the subordinate clause that “I might have to run again”.

He was re-elected as well as the 2nd chairman Bernhard Lochinger, treasurer Willi Wallhofer and secretary Adi Lochinger.

Uwe Penner remains the delegate of the local association at meetings of free voters at a higher level.

Trouble about the district election

In his brief review, however, the chairman also drew a positive balance with regard to the election of District Administrator Helmut Petz. “We mumbled around a lot and were able to help Helmut Petz become district administrator.” Very respectable results were achieved, the percentages of which the CSU was once known for. Uwe Penner was still annoyed about the district council election when he received as many votes as Erich Irlstorfer in Gammelsdorf. The CSU member of the Bundestag came to the district assembly, the Free Voter candidate did not. Penner scolded Irlstorfer, who would usually be absent from the meetings: "I find it impossible to be chosen like that."

Following the internal meeting, the Bundestag candidate for Free Voters, Karl Ecker, presented himself publicly.

He was supported by all of the party celebrities - from District Administrator Helmut Petz to Member of Parliament Benno Zierer, District Councilor Marianne Heigl to District Chairman Maria Scharlach.
