Entitled (From my country's wheat to the manufacture of cakes, pastries and sweets), Hama Governorate held today at Apamea Al-Sham Hotel the first specialized exhibition in Syria, with the participation of 28 women involved in this traditional industry.

In statements to SANA's reporter, Hadeel Al-Sulaiman, a contributor to organizing the exhibition, indicated that it is the first specialized exhibition for sweets, pastries and traditional and municipal food items in support of housewives who have extensive experience in preparing and manufacturing these products in their homes in order to encourage them to move forward in expanding these products in the fields of advertising. and finding the appropriate place to display and market them for the material benefit of them and their families.

Al-Sulaiman indicated that there are 8 bakeries for the manufacture of pastries and sweets participating in the exhibition to promote and market these products in the markets and to exchange experiences between workers in the bakeries and housewives about the latest methods used in the production and promotion of pastries.

Mrs. Ola Khader participates in the exhibition with healthy food items and said that she is keen to prepare varieties of sweets and healthy foods that are used in the manufacture of dried fruits, nuts, flax seeds, milk, honey, oats and others, explaining that these materials are of high nutritional and medical value and have no side effects on public health and that their participation At the exhibition, she comes to promote these foods to promote public health and reduce the consumption of currently common foods that contain large amounts of sugar, oils and hydrogenated fats.

Sabah Ajaj pointed out that her participation in the exhibition consisted of several types of pastries that she prepared at her home, such as Barazek, Petitfour, Ghriba, Pizza, Ajwa dates and others. .

For his part, Ahmed Al-Hamwi, the owner of a participating bakery, pointed out that his participation in the exhibition came to encourage women to manufacture sweets and home pastries, exchange experiences with them, promote their products and support them in all ways and possibilities, in the context of supporting small projects, indicating that the pastry industry is economically feasible and has a wide demand for its products in the markets. It is also considered one of the ancient industries in which Syrian women have proven a great contribution and an active presence.
