The Reggio Emilia Prosecutor's Office forwarded the rogatory request to Pakistan for the international arrest warrant against Saman Abbas's parents.
The process involving the arrest of Shabbar Abbas and Nazia Shaheen, mother and father of the 18-year-old Pakistani who is presumed to have been killed over two months ago by her family in Novellara, in the Bassa Reggiana, has been formalized for refusing a forced marriage with a cousin at home.
The two fled to Pakistan on May 1st, the day after the alleged crime.
The girl's parents are being investigated on charges of premeditated murder, kidnapping and body concealment, in competition with Saman's uncle (believed to be the material perpetrator), a cousin of the girl (the latter two fugitives and wanted in all Europa) and another cousin, the only one arrested in the affair who is in prison. And on the latter the Carabinieri dei Ris - as reported by the Gazzetta di Reggio - have analyzed the nails to ascertain whether there are traces compatible with Saman's DNA recovered from the girl's clothes seized in the house after the disappearance.
Meanwhile, a group of archaeologists from Milan also offered to collaborate in the research. Aid accepted by the carabinieri of the provincial command of Reggio Emilia - led by Colonel Cristiano Desideri. Soldiers who are also availing themselves of the help of a specialized team of German police dogs that were already used to find the bodies of the Neumair spouses in South Tyrol.
