The General Company for Suwayda Electricity put 66 air and ground conversion centers into service during the first half of the current year, after they were equipped in various regions of the governorate.
The general manager of the company, Eng. Nidal Nofal, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the centers placed in the service are distributed by 21 centers in favor of the company in order to increase the reliability and stability of the electrical network, and 45 centers to provide electricity for private sector projects.
Nofal pointed out that during the past six months, medium-tension air networks with a length of 22 km and a low air tension with a length of 11 km were established with the aim of increasing the reliability of the network, as well as replacing 30 transformers with greater capacities due to the high loads on the existing transformers, in addition to supplying 2,180 electric meters to new subscribers. 2130 single counters and the rest are triple.
The total number of electric power subscribers in As-Suwayda Governorate is about 161,000.
