The former Formula 1 driver, twice Santa Fe governor and national senator, Carlos Reutemann, died this Wednesday at the age of 79 and it was one of his daughters who confirmed the news through social networks.
Cora Reutemann used Twitter to announce her father's passing with an emotional message: "Dad left in peace and dignity
after fighting like a champion
with a strong and noble heart that accompanied him to the end," she wrote.
And he added: "I feel pride and blessing for the father I had. I know that he will accompany me every day of my life
until we meet again
in the house of the Lord."

It was she who through the same social network had denied those who announced the death of the former leader on Tuesday night.
He also posted on Twitter a photo of his father in the bed of the sanatorium where he was hospitalized for a long time, holding the hand of his daughters, Cora on one side and Mariana on the other.

Reutemann had suffered in the last hours new episodes of digestive bleeding and was still hospitalized in Santa Fe, "with a reserved prognosis" and "in serious condition", more than two months after his first hospitalization, health spokesmen said.
The senator had been hospitalized for anemia and dehydration on May 5, and from then on his condition deteriorated due to other factors, such as digestive bleeding and deterioration of his kidney function.
Since he was admitted to the Santa Fe Sanatorium at the end of May, the team of professionals who treated him decided that he should remain hospitalized there.
In the first instance, the former Formula One driver had been interned between May 5 and 21.
After a surgical intervention, he was discharged so that he could continue with the rehabilitation at home.
But nine days later he was admitted to the Sanatorio Santa Fe again.
His last public appearance had been at the end of March, when he went to be vaccinated after registering in the public registry established by the provincial government.
Reutemann will not be veiled and, after a brief farewell to his closest family circle, he will be taken to a private cemetery, since that is the will of his wife and daughters.
