He recalled writers and poets from Homs, creative people of this province who left for the world of immortality within an honorary symposium organized by the Writers Union branch in gratitude for the great cultural heritage they left in the field of literature, thought, translation, theater and poetry.

The symposium celebrated the poets Dr. Shaker Mutlaq and Muhammad Al-Fahd, the musician Muhammad Berri Al-Awani, the critic Dr. Muhammad Ratib Al-Hallaq, the linguist Dr. Abdul Ilah Nabhan, the grammarian Dr. Ghazi Tulaimat and the late writer Dr. Ali Al-Jarash for their great cultural legacy, as their departure constituted a tragic loss for the Syrian cultural movement.

The ceremony, which was presented by the poet Dr. Iyad Khazal, spoke at the outset, Dr. Mohamed Al-Hourani, head of the Writers Union, about the need to pay attention to the products of the creative departed, because they are a high and great national and cultural wealth, especially that they presented in all races of research, poetry, criticism, narration, translation and theater, and we need them because they expressed civilization They formed a school in morals and human literature, pointing out that their memory will remain a beacon for generations, and that the Writers Union will preserve their heritage and will work to print the manuscripts they left in gratitude for their giving.

In turn, the writer Omaima Ibrahim, head of the Writers Union branch in Homs, said, "The Writers Union included women who, despite their absence, still spread the fragrance of their affection, playing the beautiful melody of life, and poetry overflowing with its fragrance and purity, and the letters dance in Riyadh Al-Kalam," expressing feelings of sadness for the loss of creators within a short period.

The poet Abd al-Nabi al-Talawi recited a poem praising his friend, Dr. Shaker Mutlaq, in which he said: “Homs Al-Adiyah, bare-hearted, is running… the wounded Homs is followed by a bent tree.”

The artist Tammam Al-Awani lamented his friend, theatrical professor and the late Muhammad Berri Al-Awani, who chose not to leave his city, which hosts his ancient music club, Doha Al-Mimas, enumerating the virtues of the late and his creativity in various artistic genres.

Writer and writer Attia Masouh lamented Dr. Muhammad Ratib Al-Hallaq, who gave the generations of Homs an extra amount of culture for free, and carried the will of the enlightened intellectual, aspiring to see the scent of their ideas flowing into the trees and renewable papers of society.

As for the poet Mazhar Al-Hajji, he recited a poem praising Dr. Abd al-Ilah Nabhan, in which he expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of a person whose gifts overflowed in the field of literature and thought, and said in it: “Alone on the path, there is no sound, no news, no regrets, no light, no moon.”

The historian Dr. Abdul Rahman Bitar believed that the late grammarian Dr. Ghazi Tulaimat was a teacher, investigator, writer, researcher and grammarian, and that his encyclopedic achievements will remain alive as long as the Arabic language is alive, and he is the one who defended it in the face of the vernacular and confronted suspicious orientalist studies.

As for the writer and poet, Dr. Lina Hamdan, she inherited in her sad poem Friend of the Pen and Noble Feelings, the late poet Muhammad Al-Fahd, in which she says:

“Sorry, my friend, I never found the hymns of lamentation.

What I was waiting for the possibility of stopping the memory

She is surrounded by the shadows of a drunken reading... on the eyelid of the evening.

As for the novelist and writer Issa Ismail, he recalled Ali Al-Jarash, praising his virtues, his poetic instinct, his scientific research, and his dedication to intellectual and human giving.
