The new crown epidemic in Hong Kong continues to be stable. She also pointed out that Singapore is still Hong Kong's preferred travel partner. The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Qiu Tenghua is discussing with Singapore to re-implement the tourism bubble, but he may require vaccinations before traveling between the two places.

Lam Cheng said that she understands the demands of Hong Kong citizens for customs clearance, and the business community also has the need to conduct commercial activities in the Mainland. Therefore, every time she has the opportunity to meet with the central government officials, she makes customs clearance requirements; she also had the opportunity during her stay in Beijing last week. I saw officials from the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office expressing this strong demand. The government is now sorting out the report and submitting it to the central government, but there is no timetable for customs clearance for the time being.
As for the cancellation of the tourism bubble with Singapore twice earlier, Lam Cheng said that the epidemic in Singapore has stabilized and relevant arrangements will be re-examined.
However, she pointed out that she noticed that Singapore has adopted a new strategy to deal with the epidemic, that is, to replace the total zero with coexistence with the virus. The Hong Kong government must first understand whether it will affect the tourism bubble. In addition, the local vaccination rate is high. The local Hong Kong residents are required to be vaccinated. The government is considering whether it will also require Singaporeans to be vaccinated before they arrive in Hong Kong.
