Two tropical cyclones are located within about 800 kilometers of Hong Kong, located in the central part of the South China Sea and near the Taiwan Strait. The Observatory expects that the alert signal No. 1 will be maintained for the rest of today. Showers related to the two tropical cyclones are also affecting the coast of Guangdong and parts of Hong Kong. There will be showers and thunderstorms in the area, and there will be a few squally showers tonight.

Tropical cyclones in the central part of the South China Sea will also intensify. The Observatory predicts that there will be thunderstorms in the next two days, with showers for 9 consecutive days. As the subtropical high pressure ridge extends westward, the coast of Guangdong will be generally fine and very hot during Fridays and weekends.

The alert signal No. 1 has been issued in Hong Kong since early this morning. There are currently two tropical cyclones within about 800 kilometers of Hong Kong.

At 12:00 noon, one of the tropical depressions located near the Taiwan Strait gathered about 600 kilometers east-northeast of Hong Kong. It is expected to move north-northwest at a speed of about 18 kilometers per hour, roughly moving toward the southeastern coast of China.

According to the Observatory, the tropical depression in the Taiwan Strait is gradually weakening.

Another tropical depression located in the central part of the South China Sea gathered about 760 kilometers south-southwest of Hong Kong at noon. It is expected to move slowly at first, and later move north-northwest at a speed of about 10 kilometers to Hainan Island.

According to the Observatory, the tropical depression has moved slowly and strengthened in the past few hours, but it will still maintain a distance of more than 500 kilometers from Hong Kong today. It is expected to cross Hainan Island and enter Beibu Gulf tomorrow.
