The Lod District Court will tomorrow (Thursday) sentence Carmel Meoda, a kindergarten teacher from Rosh HaAyin who was convicted of abusing toddlers in a kindergarten she owns in Rosh HaAyin about two years ago.

Along with the prosecution's request about three months ago to impose a maximum of 14 years in prison instead of 16, parents of toddlers in kindergarten hope that the court will sentence them to the maximum sentence.

During the hearing at the sentencing arguments stage, the plaintiff noted the punishment according to nine years imprisonment for the counts of abuse for which she was convicted and seven years imprisonment for the counts of assault.

However, she sought to impose 14 years in prison and not 16 as the law allows.

Cases of abuse in kindergartens (headquarters of the fight against abuse in early childhood)

The parents, the prosecution's request is not sufficient.

Yael Tulczynski, the mother of H.E., whose abuse was mentioned in the indictment in the indictment, described the past period so far as particularly severe.

"My daughter was slapped, stepped on, her head hit in a coop when Carmel threw her on the mattress," she said.

"Carmel grabbed her by the cheeks and threw her head back ... My baby was a year and a bit old. No punishment would satisfy me for what Carmel had ever done. The children were left with scars forever.

" I hope the judge will sentence her to the maximum sentence, "she said. "Then we can also focus on our war with the assistant Liraz Tiferet Natan, whose trial is still ongoing."

"For two years we are in a nightmare," said Yossi company, father of a kindergarten and CEO of the Association "Justice for Children" - the campaign against the abuse of young children. "Dealing daily with what our children go through following the abusive actions of Carmel ever."

He added: During those two years, more and more families joined the parents. "We realized how innocent we were and that there was a coup d'etat here," he said. "We have been terrorized by those who are supposed to protect them when we go to work."

"We have several goals at the headquarters of the struggle and one of them is to aggravate punishment with abusers of the helpless because today there is no deterrence," he continued, emphasizing that the punishment today is ridiculous.

"There are 500,000 preschool children, of which about 200,000 are in educational settings and we need to know that they are protected. Carmel Meuda was convicted of 17 counts of abuse and assault of 11 toddlers and I expect the judge to punish my precedent. He will deter Carmel Meuda next."

In all, the Central District Court eight months ago convicted Meuda Meuda of 18 counts of abuse and assault against 11 infants and toddlers. In addition, the toddlers' parents filed a civil lawsuit against Meuda in order to obtain compensation of NIS 2.5 million.

Among other things, she was accused of covering the babies 'heads with a blanket, sitting on them to prevent movement, tying one of the toddlers' hands with a string for minutes to hours, holding several of them by force and lifting them in the air until they were thrown to the floor. She was also charged with shaking, putting babies face down on the wall, sometimes for hours, and slapping them with a diaper, slapping them, pinching and pulling their heads back while blocking their noses and mouths.

The investigation against Meuda began following the publication of documentation of the abuse, as recorded on cameras placed in the nursery.

The documentation revealed harsh acts and even ignited huge protests across the country.

The parents of the toddlers at the "Baby Love" nursery, which she has always operated, used to come to the legal hearings in the case, and more than once called her cries from the audience benches.

Shortly after the affair broke out, Meuda's house in Rosh HaAyin, where the nursery was located, was also set on fire.

The lighter, Adir Ratzon, was convicted in a plea deal in July and sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

"Hopefully that brutal persecution campaign will not find its way to sentencing."

MK Ophir Katz (Likud) submitted a bill to increase the punishment for abusers. "Two years of struggle began with the exposure to the atrocities that Carmel had never committed," he said. "I have no doubt that the sentence here will be stricter, but this is the flagship case of the justice system. There are dozens of other cases thrown aside by the law enforcement system, trampled and trampled. My bill must pass soon, it is our duty to ensure proportionality and deterrence to eradicate this phenomenon. "I have submitted a request for continuity and I am working hard to pass it as soon as possible. I will continue to fight for the safety of our children."

Advocate Sheeran Bergman, who has been representing Carmel Meuda on behalf of the Public Defender's Office, stated: "The defense raised before the court all of its claims, including the expression of sincere remorse on Carmel's part, as well as other arguments regarding her complex personal circumstances. Unfortunately, in parallel with the legal proceedings, an unprecedented public trial took place. We can only hope that this brutal persecution campaign will not find its way to sentencing. "
