He devoted his life to the analysis of free throws and funds, and after going through an unconventional trajectory and reaching out to Mancini’s team, he hopes his theory will bring a trophy.

The Italian team is perhaps the most impressive team in the Euros.
Roberto Mancini has turned the regional into an offensive and effective machine, but at least some of the credit goes to another man, far more anonymous: Johnny Vie.
Vio, the assistant coach of the team, grew from below.
He began his professional career in general as a banker, but at the same time cultivated his true love: analysis of stationary situations.
Hugh wrote two books on his theory that improving the efficiency of teams in stationary situations is "equivalent to a striker scoring 15 goals a year without getting injured."
At one point, he started working in the lower leagues in Italy as a coach, and whether his theory was proven correct or not, he acquired a positive reputation.
Over the years he has worked in Milan and advised Leeds, Brentford and DC United from the MLS.
But only now, at age 66, is he starting to get the stamp on his work, as Roberto Mancini's assistant.

According to Vio, he has invented no less than 4,830 exercises for stationary situations, and assimilates their share in the teams or teams in which he works according to the players' material. Last year Roberto Mancini unexpectedly added him to his squad, asking him to prepare drills specifically designed for the region’s standout players. Vio has prepared exercises that are suitable for a fast player like Lorenzo Insignia, and other exercises that are suitable for tall and sturdy players like Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.
The goal scored by Matteo Pasina in a 0-1 draw over Wales in the home leg was a perfect performance of one of Vio's exercises. "Jani has so many brilliant exercises and moves. He is the secret weapon of every team he works for," said former player Davide Baioko, who collaborated with Vio in Catania. "He loves the element of surprise, and his drills involve scheduled moves of a lot of players at once. It creates all sorts of problems for the defense because she doesn't know who she needs to mark."

The exercise that led to the winning goal against Wales
Former goalkeeper Walter Zenga has been assisted by Viou more than once during his career as a coach, and now he sees his effect on the Italian national team.
"Mancini understands that in a tournament like this, so short, with seven games in total, stationary situations can be crucial. Vieu is the perfect man to upgrade that element."
Tonight (22:00, Network 13) against Spain in the Euro semi-finals, Vio and Italy will hope for one successful exercise.
"He's our secret weapon," praised Gazzetta dello Sport this week, "and Spain will find out soon, too."
