The sponsorship concert of the Wolfersdorf elementary school with the Munich Radio Orchestra could now be rescheduled - for the first time in the open air.

Wolfersdorf

- In March of last year, shortly before the dress rehearsal of the godfather concert, the first lockdown was imposed. Many sad children who had spent months preparing for their performance with the musicians of the Munich Radio Orchestra had no opportunity to show their skills. Everyone was disappointed. For the teaching staff and the school management of the Wolfersdorf elementary school as well as those responsible for the Munich Radio Orchestra, it was clear that everything would be done to realize the concert at a later date. Said and done! It was already clear in April 2020: It would be the first open-air sponsorship concert. With the help of parents, the mayor and the board of the Stockschützen, a perfect location for the concert was found in the outdoor area of the Stockschützenhalle.Every opportunity to practice with the children was used during the school year - always in compliance with the currently applicable hygiene rules. June 17th was set as the concert evening, and almost two weeks beforehand, the Munich Radio Orchestra received the relieving news: The sponsorship concert may take place. In order to meet all regulations, two concerts were played. A great pleasure for the children.

One of the actors commented on this with the words: "Since I have known that the concert will be performed twice, it feels even more professional." The musicians of the Munich Radio Orchestra met in wonderful summer weather on the evening of June 17th motley sea of colors, consisting of many balloons, on the outdoor area of the stick shooting club.

They enchanted small and large listeners with music by Dvorak, Haydn, Ibert, Joplin, Kanefzky and Moser and took them into the wonderful world of music.

Tim, Nepomuk, Rosalie, Hannah, Luise and Marie grew beyond themselves as actors.

Together with the audience children, they took a close look at music - that was also the theme of the concert.

And the young actors led through the program.

The detectives (main role, played by Tim and Nepomuk) couldn't think of anything better than to analyze the music and scrutinize it.

But when the detective was deeply touched by the beautiful sounds of the vibraphone played by Andreas Moser, it was clear to him: Music doesn't need to be analyzed - music belongs in the heart!

Many colorful balloons also stood for the lightness that prevailed among the children and the joy of the concert, which finally took place a year late.

The performances of the two music groups also went to the heart. The children of the 3rd and 4th grades played on percussion instruments together with the musicians of the Munich Radio Orchestra. Horn player and composer Franz Kanefzky wrote the arrangements exclusively for the children. The applause of their parents, the teachers and the musicians was certain to the music wolves. And they clearly enjoyed it. “Thank you for so many bright children's eyes,” the parents thanked them.

With lots of music in their hearts and pride, they went home that evening through the mild June night.

And who knows?

Perhaps one or the other adult felt like a second grader after the concert: “The music was so beautiful.

It will stay in my heart forever ”, the girl gushed out the day after the concert.

A wonderful end to a long musical journey.

This is what the children said:

“I have all the music parked in my heart.

And if I feel like it, I can always let it go out. "" I floated myself into the sound of the vibraphone. "

"When I was on stage, I was excited in my heart."

This is what the musicians said:

"These children not only played along with the music, they made real music."

"This concert was very special for us."
