France will finally pay tribute to General Gudin during his repatriation to Le Bourget on Tuesday July 13.
The Minister of Veterans Affairs, Geneviève Darrieussecq, will bow to the remains of Charles Gudin de la Sablonnière, who died on August 22, 1812 in Smolensk during the Russian campaign.
His body was found in Russia in 2019 and a tribute to the Invalides in the presence of Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Poutin had been mentioned.
For several reasons, diplomatic and health in particular, the tribute had not been confirmed.
