Nuremberg - A 39-year-old man has been standing before the Nuremberg * -Fürth regional court since mid-June.
He is charged with "attempted murder" of his wife.
He is said to have prepared cinnamon rolls with sleeping pills.
According to his statement, he only wanted to “incapacitate” his separated wife for a short time in order to be able to spend more time with the son.
The court passed the verdict on Thursday afternoon (July 8th).

Not only the wife, but also his mother-in-law ate the poisoned cinnamon buns and became seriously ill as a result. The mother-in-law even had to be artificially ventilated in the hospital and was in mortal danger. Therefore, the public prosecutor had previously requested a prison sentence of nine years in their plea. The defense had considered a conviction for dangerous bodily harm sufficient because there was no intention to kill.
On Thursday afternoon (July 8th) the regional court sentenced the 39-year-old from Erlangen * to a prison sentence of six years and three months.
He also has to go to a rehab facility.
The 19th criminal chamber of the Nuremberg-Fürth regional court saw in its judgment on Thursday the offense of attempted murder in unity with dangerous bodily harm as fulfilled.
In addition, violations of the Narcotics Act were included in the punishment.
